Frozen Donut Skin

Village Sport Shop is proud to announce the third winter of our all-inclusive, fun-loving, no-excuses, get out of bed and start your day off right Frozen Donut hike up Burke Mountain.  With Burke Mountain on solid snow footing and uphill routes now open, it's time to do the Fro Do!  For those of you who haven't joined us before, the Frozen Donut is a casual, no drop skin (proper equipment required) up one of the approved non-operational uphill routes at Burke Mountain.  If your curious about alpine touring/uphilling but have never tried for one reason or another, this is your chance to check it out.  We may be able to help out with short term equipment needs and we do still have season leases on AT equipment available.  We've helped lots of first timers make their first ascent of Burke Mountain on skis, and there will always be someone there to show you the ropes and get you to the top!  The meeting spot is the upper parking lot at Mid-Burke, next to the ski patrol shack.  Meeting time is a few minutes before 6:30 am each Tuesday morning (unless cancelled) with the goal of launching by 6:30ish and getting back to the lot before operational hours begin (at 8:00am).  Please familiarize yourself with Burke's uphill policy before arriving by clicking here:   https://www.skiburke.com/skiing-and-riding/tickets-and-passes/uphill-policy/.  As always, we will be using only permitted routes for both climbing and descending and it is mandatory that all participants have obtained their uphill passes directly from the mountain.
